Amado Nervo was a Mexican poet and writer born on August 27, 1870, in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico. He is considered one of the most important poets of the Spanish language in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Nervo studied philosophy and literature at the National Preparatory School and the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National University of Mexico. He started his career as a journalist and writer and later became a diplomat, serving in various countries, including Argentina, Spain, France, and Uruguay.
Nervo's poetry is characterized by its beauty, emotion, and depth. He wrote in a modernist style, often exploring themes of love, death, and spirituality. Some of his most famous works include "La amada inmóvil," "El éxodo y las flores del camino," and "El diablo desinteresado."
Amado Nervo passed away on May 24, 1919, in Montevideo, Uruguay, at the age of 48. His legacy continues to be celebrated in Mexico and around the world, with his works being translated into multiple languages and studied in literature courses.
